What the service is
Chessify is published by Chessify, Inc.: the site footer reads “Copyright © 2016- Chessify, Inc.” and the contact page gives a San Francisco address (1015 Filmore St. #13436, CA 94115) along with info@chessify.me. The About page dates the company to 2016 and credits “a group of IT specialists” close to professional players, who started from the observation that grandmasters had to buy expensive hardware to run an engine. The service therefore rents computing power: servers advertised at up to 1,000,000 kN/s with Stockfish 18, asmFish, Leela Chess Zero and about ten other engines, a “9.7+ Million game database updated weekly”, PGN storage, and position capture from a photograph. The business model mixes tiered subscriptions (Amateur, Master, GM, Super GM) with a virtual currency, “coins”, sold from $25 (2,500 coins) to $1,000 (120,000 coins) and used to rent dedicated servers. The site claims “60 000+ PRO Users” and three grandmaster ambassadors: Fabiano Caruana, Anish Giri and Levon Aronian.
