What the service is
365Chess is an online game database run by the US company 365Engage LLC, which trades as 365Chess (privacy policy effective 1 March 2021; data is processed in the United States and no postal address is published). The site’s Wikidata entry lists a 2007 inception and an owner named Jorge Martínez; the site itself publishes neither a launch date nor a team page. The service gives access to more than 4.4 million games searchable by player, opening, ECO code, year or position; it offers an opening explorer with statistics, a per-player opening explorer, an analysis board powered by Stockfish, tactical puzzles with a rating, play against Stockfish at adjustable strength, a blog and player rankings. The model is free with advertising and quotas (25 puzzles a day for basic members); the "Supporter" status costs €20 a year at the basic tier (tiers up to €100 carry the same benefits) and unlocks unlimited search, personal databases, the player explorer, PGN download and an ad-free site. 365Chess does not automatically import games played on Chess.com or Lichess, does not analyse a player’s whole game history and names no recurring mistake; it has no mobile app and its interface exists in English only.
Activity history
- 2024-07On 25 July 2024 the blog publishes an article on the 2024 World Championship (Ding Liren vs Gukesh), one of the few dated pieces of content on the site.
- 2023-09A thread opened on 11 September 2023 on the Chess.com forum, "365Chess.com has improved, greatly!", points to a reworked openings page (opening.php).
- 2021-03The current privacy policy is effective 1 March 2021; it names the operator as 365Engage LLC dba 365Chess and Google as advertising network.
- 2007Wikidata dates the inception of 365Chess to 2007 and credits Jorge Martínez as owner; the site’s privacy policy carries "© 2007-2026".
