Photograph your scoresheet
Take a photo of your scoresheet with your phone, or pick an image from your gallery — front and back if the game continues overleaf. A sharp, well-lit photo is enough.
AI reads the handwritten moves
The sheet is transcribed several times and the readings are cross-checked. English notation (Nf3, Bb5) as well as French piece letters (C for knight, F for bishop), castling, captures and checks are recognized exactly as written.
Confirm the doubtful moves
The game is rebuilt move by move under legality constraints: a badly written move is often deduced from what follows. Only the truly ambiguous squares are shown to you, sheet side by side — pick a suggestion or play the move on the board.
Get the PGN and analyze

Frequently asked questions
Which notations are recognized?
English notation (Nf3, Bb5), French piece letters (C, F, T, D — and R for King) and the usual symbols (0-0, x, +, promotion). Move legality automatically settles ambiguities between the two languages.
What happens if a move is unreadable?
The tool rebuilds the whole game: an unreadable move is often deduced from the following moves. If a doubt remains, the square is shown to you with the sheet photo side by side — confirm in one click or play the move on the board.
My game ended with a resignation — is that handled?
Yes. When the sheet shows no further clear move, the “The game ends here” option closes the game cleanly, and the result written on the sheet (1-0, 0-1, draw) is picked up automatically.
Is it free?
Yes, scanning is free. A free account keeps its 20 most recent games; ChessPivot Plus removes that limit and unlocks deep analysis and unlimited personalized exercises.
Are my photos kept?
The photo is stored with your game so you can double-check a move later. It is permanently deleted if you erase your data (GDPR compliant).
