What the service is
KCF Academy is the online lesson programme of the Kasparov Chess Foundation, a not-for-profit educational organisation founded by Garry Kasparov and based in New York (press release dated 2 November 2023 on kcfacademy.org/news/press-release). That release announced the academy’s launch: a first season of live classes from 6 January to 15 June 2024, in four rating-based levels, in partnership with ChessBase. The service consists of 90-minute Zoom sessions twice a week (24 lessons per season), recordings, study materials in a KCF Academy app, Sunday "KCF STARS" masterclasses (Kasparov, Topalov and Caruana among others) reserved for Premium and Expert members, and a certificate of completion signed by Kasparov. The business model is a per-season enrolment: for the 9 January to 23 June 2027 season, the Programs page lists €300 (Basic) and €450 (Premium), plus an Expert group at €300; members also get three months of Chess.com Diamond and discounts on the foundation’s festival and summer camp. Lessons are taught in English only. The service does not import the student’s games, does not analyse them with an engine, generates no personalised exercises and offers no online play; the pages we consulted document neither a free trial, nor refunds, nor a privacy policy.
