White emerged from the opening with a clear kingside plan and held the initiative for a long stretch — 88% at least good moves against 77%. Converting was the problem. At 39.Rf4 the engine drops from +2.6 to 0.0; 43.e6+ slides from +4.1 to +1.8. Carlsen returned the favour with 43...Ke8, from -1.8 to -3.4, before 45.Qg3 flipped everything, from +5.6 to -4.1. The pawn ending that followed left no doubt, and Black won. The takeaway: high accuracy counts for little if the decisive move is missed at the decisive moment.
