Budapest Gambit, 2014: Zhigalko (2672) with White against Onischuk (2614), who gives up the e5 pawn early for quick piece play. Everything turns on three moves. On move 14, 14.f3 is a mistake that swings the evaluation from −0.3 to +1.6, and Black answers 14...Nxc4. Then 15.b4 lets more slip: from +1.7 to +4.5, a missed chance for White. Onischuk returns the favour with 15...Ra6, from −4.5 to +3.2. Accuracy: 73% for White, 80% for Black, and a draw at the end. The lesson: both sides can hand the advantage back and forth without either converting it.
