Once the queens came off, the bishops-versus-knight ending stayed grim for White, and 60.Nb3+ let a chance slip, from −6.6 to −15.0. The takeaway: in a level position, an active-looking queen move can cost the game — and a lost ending still needs defending, not accelerating.
