Wojtaszek, R. – Socko, B.
2746 2016 · White wins (resignation, time or agreement)
Queen’s Gambit Accepted, 2016: Wojtaszek (2746) against Socko (2604), a game White steered from start to finish. After 3.e4 e5, Black’s kingside pawn structure is compromised by 7...fxe6, and the white queen goes hunting on b7. The engine flags no turning point at all: no single blunder, no missed chance that swings the evaluation in one move. The result comes from consistency — 95% of White’s moves at least good, against 88% for Black — and then from patient work in the rook-and-bishop versus rook-and-knight ending, through to 48.g5 and resignation (1-0). The takeaway: with no clear mistake on the board, a gap in precision is enough to settle a game.
