Duda, J. – Gukesh, D.
2725 2025 · White wins (resignation, time or agreement)
A Center Game from 2025: Duda (2725) grabs kingside space against Gukesh (2776), who snaps off a pawn on a3 and steers the game into very concrete territory. The turning point is move 24: 24...d5 swings the evaluation from −1.5 to −3.4, handing back everything Black had patiently built. Duda doesn’t cash in cleanly — 25.Qd4 drops from +3.4 to +1.6 — but the rook-and-bishop ending is his: 50...g4 (−3.0 to −4.7) and 56...Kf6 (−5.9 to −7.8) widen the gap, and even 59.Rc4 (+9.4 to +7.5) doesn’t change the result. Accuracy: 90% for White, 88% for Black. The lesson: an earned advantage can vanish in a single move, and rarely comes back.
