Peralta, Fernando – Granda Zuniga, Julio E
2574 2006 · White wins (resignation, time or agreement)
Old Benoni, 2006: Peralta (2574) against Granda Zuniga (2646). After 1.d4 c5 2.d5 e5, Black brings the queen out early to f6 and g7, pushes f5 and castles long, while White plants a pawn on e6 and develops calmly. That e6 pawn, plus the exchanges down the d-file, leave White clearly on top. The turning point is 30...Qf6: the evaluation drops from -2.3 to -4.1 from White’s side, and Black’s position is no longer holdable. Peralta plays 31.c3 and Granda Zuniga resigns. Accuracy: 90% for White, 73% for Black — the gap widened move by move rather than in one flash. The lesson: in an already bad position, a passive queen move only speeds up the collapse.
