The idea
A discovered attack uncovers a line piece (bishop, rook or queen) by moving the piece in front of it, creating two simultaneous threats. A discovered check is the strongest: the opponent must answer the check while the moving piece captures freely. Look for your line pieces screened by a single friendly piece.
